Autobiography III
The band on stage is Austin's own hardcore outfit Signal Lost, of whom I am most certainly a fan. I went and saw them in Austin the other night when they opened for Toys That Kill and the Queers. The amp head for the bass somehow fell off the speaker right at the beginning of a song, and no amount of fiddling would make it work properly again, which was the point at which it was discovered a tube had come loose, rendering the amp useless.
Seriously, I was worried for a bit they were just done, when who should swoop in to help but Joe Queer himself. He jumps on stage, helps them set up the Queers bass amp, and the set continues as scheduled. I had this small pang of hope when Signal Lost started using the Queers' equipment that they might all of a sudden start playing bubblegum, but no dice.
I'd also like to document that, as of this writing, Signal Lost's MySpace page currently has 10,944 profile views, and 1,510 friends. I mention this simply because I'm always curious as to what effect, if any, my linking MySpace profiles has, and so I wanted to officially track it today.
Friend me too while you're logged in over there. I am a nice person.
